COMMUNITY FUNDED SECURITY
The responsible authorities are unwilling/unable to provide any permanent solution to stop the criminal elements BURNING RUBBISH at all of the Kya Sand dumps.

We are already engaged in a Court Battle against the City to force them to do something about the problem. However, even if we win ALL our Court Applications, this process will still take years before they are forced to take any action by a Court Order.

In the meantime, we are being POSIONED by the toxic chemicals that pour out of the many Kya Sand burning rubbish dumps 24/7.
We NEED to solve this problem OURSELVES!

We cannot afford to wait for government authorities to be forced to take action in a few years time.

If we want the burning to stop NOW, then we need to implement our own 24/7 PRIVATE SECURITY SOLUTION!

Our community funded secuerity initiative will employ Night Guard Security to put an immediate STOP to the BURNING until we can force the authorities to take over via a Court Order.
Tactical Security Units will work together with the South African Police Service (SAPS) on regular, targeted Raids to remove criminal elements from the area.

TACTICAL UNITS will also PATROL the Kya Sand area 24/7.
​
This will put an IMMEDIATE STOP to ALL of the illegal BURNING and DUMPING at ALL 14+ illegal dump sites in Kya Sand. Any new dumps will be stopped from developing.

Who is Kya Sand Burning Wasteland Community Forum NPC? Is it a registered NPO/NPC?
Kya Sand Burning Wasteland Community Forum NPC is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that was established for a single purpose: to stop the illegal dumping and burning of waste taking place in and around the Kya-Sands and Msawawa informal settlements.
The NPC represents the families and businesses in the Kya Sand and the surrounding areas: Fourways, Chartwell, Broadacres, Northriding, Northgate, Jackal Creek, Honeydew, Cosmo City, Klein Jukskei River Valley and everywhere in between.

We have a legal team consisting of a leading global law firm, Norton Rose Fullbright and an experienced environmental advocate acting for us Pro-Bono (without any cost to us).
Why do we need Private Security?
​
The responsible authorities are unwilling/unable to do anything about the Kya Sand burning rubbish dumps problem.
​
If we want the burning to stop anytime soon, we need to implement our own Private Security Solution until the relevant authorities are in a position to take over.

What about going to Court?​
​​
We are already engaged in a Court battle against the authorities. We won our first case against the City to force them to do their own air quality testing.
​
The results of the City's air quality testing will be done by the end of April 2025.
​
Only after that will the next part of the court battle commence. It may be over 2 years before the authorities are forced to do something as a result of our Court Action.

Do we need 24/7 Security?
As soon as the security stops, the dumping and burning will start again. We need to have permanent security until the authorities are forced to take over the area via a Court Order.
Has Night Guard given us a community rate?

Yes, Night Guard has given us a discounted community rate.

We need to understand that this is not a normal security problem. There are at least 14+ dump sites around the Kya Sand area that need to be secured. Night Guard will be securing ALL of these sites.

When will the Private Security be implemented?
The Private Security Solution will be rolled out as soon as we have raised enpough money from the monthly Subscriptions from our Community Members.
The sooner we can get enough Subscribers, the sooner we will STOP the BURNING.
​Where should the trucks go and dump?
The trucks currently dumping in Kya Sand can go and dump at the Pikitup Bryanston Dump or the Pikitup Randburg Depot (as they are supposed to!). These companies are CHOOSING to dump illegally in Kya Sand. They do have other options.
